Puck Fair Collection

Mairead Sheahan’s journey with Puck Fair began in 2022 when she partnered with the festival to create its official merchandise, a collaboration that has become a cornerstone of Casey Collections.

Puck Fair Ireland’s oldest street festival held annually on the 10th, 11th and 12th of August in Killorglin, Co. Kerry. This year, 2025, Puck Fair will celebrate its 412th anniversary. The festival originated in 1613, known as the ‘Gathering Festival’ and can be traced back to William Cromwell, according to the official website.

The official website, www.puckfair.ie suggests Puck, the he-goat, is known to have separated from its herd as they tried to escape “Roundheads’. Puck was eventually founded by locals, on the banks of the Laune, heading towards Killorglin (Cill Orglain) to indicate danger and the locals alarmed begun round their stock for fear of danger. In recognition of the Puck’s wisdom, locals decided to celebrate with a ‘special festival in his honour, which was granted legal status by King James I in the seventeen century. Today, it continues to crown the wild mountain goat as a King in honour while maintaining its tradition and heritage as an annual social, economic and cultural event.

Puck Fair attracts from 80,000 to 100,000 visitors and over the three day event with pubs and restaurants hosting traditional music with singing and dancing from morning to night and with locals and visitors from both near and far.
